Main Ingredients- 1 Pink sausage (sliced about 1cm thick)
- 1/3 Zucchini
- 5 Eggs
- 1 Flower-shaped cookie cutter (available at stores like Daiso)
Seasoning & Others- Pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp Cooking oil
- Pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp Cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the pink sausage by slicing it into approximately 1cm thick pieces. Slicing them too thinly might make it difficult to create the shape, so aim for a moderate thickness.
Step 2
Place the flower-shaped cookie cutter on the sliced pink sausage and press firmly to create beautiful flower shapes. You can easily find cookie cutters at general stores like Daiso. Don’t discard the leftover sausage pieces after cutting out the shapes; we’ll use them too!
Step 3
Wash the 1/3 zucchini, remove the seeds, and finely mince it. This minced zucchini will be used to fill the center of the sausage flowers. Additionally, finely mince the remaining pink sausage pieces that were cut out. In a bowl, crack 1 egg, add the minced zucchini, minced sausage, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to create the ‘filling’. In a separate bowl, crack 4 eggs and add a pinch of salt, then whisk gently to prepare the ‘egg wash’.
Step 4
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Cooking over low heat ensures they cook evenly without burning. Lightly brush the egg wash onto one side of the prepared flower-shaped sausages. Carefully place them, egg-washed side down, onto the pan. Then, using a teaspoon, scoop small amounts of the ‘filling’ mixture and gently place it onto the center of each sausage flower. For the remaining flower-shaped sausage pieces, you can skewer them with toothpicks, brush them with egg wash, and cook them in the pan or on the side.
Step 5
Flip the fritters as they cook, ensuring both sides are golden brown. Once the filling is cooked and the sausages are tender, your delicious fritters will be ready.
Step 6
If you have leftover egg wash, you can mix in some of the minced zucchini or remaining sausage pieces to make an egg roll (tamagoyaki style) as a tasty side dish.
Step 7
Arrange the finished pink sausage flower fritters beautifully on a serving plate. The lovely flowers blooming on the pink sausage will provide a visually delightful and delicious special meal. Make your table even more vibrant with these colorful, attractive shapes.
