Main Ingredients- 55g pink sausage (canned ham can be substituted)
- 45g onion (about 1/4 medium onion)
- 2 Korean green chili peppers (adjust spiciness, can be substituted with red chili peppers)
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour (adjust seasoning if using pancake mix)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- Pinch of black pepper (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, remove the casing from the pink sausage and slice it about 5mm thick. Then, finely mince it to about 3mm pieces. Peel and finely mince the onion to a similar size. Remove the seeds from the Korean green chili peppers and mince them finely as well. (If you prefer less spicy food, reduce the amount of chili peppers or omit them.)
Step 2
In a wide bowl, combine the minced pink sausage, minced onion, and minced green chili peppers. Add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and crack in 1 egg. To season, add 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper (about 1-2 shakes) for flavor. (If using pancake mix, reduce the amount of salt.)
Step 3
Using a spatula or spoon, stir the ingredients in the bowl until they are evenly mixed and no lumps remain. It’s important to mix thoroughly so that the egg and flour bind the ingredients together moistly. The batter should be slightly thick, not too runny.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add about 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Scoop the batter with a spoon and drop it onto the pan, forming small, flat pancakes. Once one side is golden brown, flip it over and cook the other side until equally golden brown. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until delicious Pink Sausage and Onion Pancakes are ready.
