- 1 tsp Lemon juice (approx. 5ml)
- 1/8 Cabbage (approx. 150g)
- 1/6 Carrot (approx. 30g)
- 1/2 Red bell pepper (approx. 40g)
- 1/2 Onion (small size, approx. 50g)
- 8 Tbsp Mayonnaise (approx. 120ml)
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard (approx. 30ml)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar (approx. 15g)
- 1 tsp Lemon juice (approx. 5ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cook the galbi patties until they are golden brown and delicious. If using store-bought frozen patties, cook them according to package directions in a pan or oven. If the patties are larger than the morning buns, feel free to cut them into more manageable sizes. Homemade galbi also works wonderfully!
Step 2
Prepare the sandwich ingredients. Carefully slice the morning buns in half horizontally, ensuring the bottom remains attached. Finely shred the cabbage, and julienne the carrot, bell pepper, and onion. Uniformly cut vegetables will enhance the texture of your sandwich.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrot, bell pepper, and onion. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sugar, and lemon juice. The lemon juice adds a fresh flavor and cuts through the richness of the mayonnaise, so don’t skip it!
Step 4
Gently mix the ingredients with chopsticks or a spatula until well combined. The amount of mayonnaise is key to a great salad. If you prefer a creamier, more moist salad, add a little extra mayonnaise. Avoid overmixing to keep the vegetables crisp.
Step 5
Now it’s time to assemble the sandwich! Place a fresh lettuce leaf inside the halved morning bun, followed by a generous scoop of the prepared salad. Layer the golden-brown galbi patty, pickle slices, and a slice of cheese on top. And there you have it! This salad is also delicious served simply on a bun without the galbi, so feel free to enjoy it your way!
