Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 Tbsp chopped green onion
  • 1 egg

Seasonings & Others
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  • Butter, for greasing
  • Ketchup, for drizzling
  • 1 Tbsp sugar

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, melt a generous amount of butter in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, place the bread slices in the pan and toast them until golden brown and slightly crispy on both sides. Freshly toasted bread offers a richer flavor.

Step 2

In a bowl, crack the egg and whisk it together with the chopped green onions. Heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a separate pan over medium heat. Pour the egg mixture thinly and spread it out to create a flat omelet. Cooking it until the edges are slightly crisp will enhance the texture.

Step 3

On one slice of the butter-toasted bread, place the cooked egg and green onion mixture. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of sugar evenly over the top. The sugar will melt and caramelize, adding a deeper layer of sweetness.

Step 4

Drizzle ketchup generously in a zigzag pattern over the egg mixture. The sweet and tangy ketchup will balance the flavors, creating a more delightful toast.

Step 5

Cover with the remaining slice of bread, creating a sandwich. Fold it in half to make it easier to handle. You can then place it inside a paper cup for a convenient, on-the-go street food experience.
