Easy Homemade Mini Hot Dogs Using Pancake Mix for a Delicious Snack
On hot, lazy days, nothing beats mom’s homemade mini hot dogs! These delightful treats are so irresistible, you’ll find yourself finishing five in no time. Made with a tender pancake batter, they’re the perfect snack for the whole family.
Ingredients- 10 Vienna sausages
- 200g Pancake mix
- 100g Milk
- 1 large Egg
- 50g Breadcrumbs
- Plenty of Cooking oil for frying

Step 1
First, prepare 10 Vienna sausages. Blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes to achieve a nice, plump texture.
Step 2
Drain the blanched sausages and insert one sausage onto each of the 10 wooden skewers. This makes them easy and safe for everyone to hold and eat.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the delicious batter. In a bowl, combine 200g of pancake mix, 100g of milk, and 1 large egg. Whisk until smooth and free of lumps. Using chopsticks or a whisk will make this easier.

Pour the prepared batter into a deep bowl. Hold a skewer with a sausage and dip it into the batter, ensuring the entire sausage is evenly coated. Gently rotate the skewer to get a good coverage of batter.

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat to about 160°C (320°F). Carefully place the battered sausages into the hot oil and fry for about 3 minutes, until they turn a beautiful golden brown.

Remove the first-fried hot dogs from the oil and place them on a wire rack to drain any excess oil. Let them cool slightly. Then, dip each hot dog into the pancake batter once more, ensuring a good coating.

For the second coating, press the battered hot dogs into the breadcrumbs. Gently shape them with your hands to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well and create a rounded, appealing form. The breadcrumbs will add a delightful crunch.
