Recipe Info

  • Category : Main dish
  • Ingredient Category : Chicken
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Boil / Simmer
  • Servings : 3 servings
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken thigh pieces
  • 1 potato (medium-sized)
  • 2 cm carrot
  • 1/4 onion (medium-sized)

Sauce & Seasoning

  • 0.5 tsp minced garlic
  • 200ml Kinder Milch or milk (1 bottle)
  • 100g First Taste Curry Sauce (or mild baby curry sauce)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for the braised chicken by washing and trimming them thoroughly. Using fresh ingredients is crucial for baby food.

Step 1

Step 2

Carefully remove any remaining bones, excess fat, or sinew from the chicken thigh pieces to make them suitable for your baby. This ensures a better texture and reduces unnecessary fat.

Step 2

Step 3

Place the prepared chicken thighs in boiling water and blanch for about 5 minutes. This step helps remove impurities and any unwanted odors from the chicken.

Step 3

Step 4

Remove the blanched chicken from the water, rinse it under cold water, and let it cool down. It’s best to proceed to the next step once it has cooled completely.

Step 4

Step 5

Dice the potatoes, carrots, and onions into bite-sized cubes, about 1.5 cm. If the vegetables are too large, they may take longer to cook.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the chicken has cooled, cut it into manageable, bite-sized pieces (approximately 2-3 cm). This size is easy for babies to eat, even independently.

Step 6

Step 7

In a large bowl, combine the cut chicken pieces with 0.5 tsp of minced garlic and mix well to marinate. The subtle garlic aroma will add a delicious depth of flavor.

Step 7

Step 8

Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes, carrots, and onions. Pour in about 2 ladles of the chicken blanching water and sauté until the vegetables begin to soften and turn slightly translucent. Using the chicken broth adds a richer flavor.

Step 8

Step 9

Once the vegetables are partially cooked, add the marinated chicken to the frying pan and stir-fry together until the chicken is browned on the outside.

Step 9

Step 10

Now, add the entire 100g packet of ‘First Taste Curry Sauce’ (or a mild baby curry sauce). Using a baby-specific curry sauce ensures it’s not spicy and has a gentle flavor profile.

Step 10

Step 11

Pour in 200ml of Kinder Milch (or low-fat milk). The milk will mellow the curry sauce, making it creamier and more appealing to babies.

Step 11

Step 12

Stir everything together to combine well, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 12

Step 13

Once the sauce has thickened to a desirable, slightly saucy consistency and coats the ingredients well, turn off the heat. Be careful not to let it get too dry.

Step 13

Step 14

Your mild and delicious Curry Milk Braised Chicken for kids is ready! Serve it over rice as a donburi-style meal, or as a side dish. It’s a nutritious and tasty option that babies will love. It truly offers both flavor and health benefits!
