- 1 Tbsp Tuna Extract (for umami)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 pinch Salt

- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic (mild garlic flavor)
- Generous amount of Sesame Seeds (for garnish)
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Tuna Extract (for umami)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil (for rich aroma!)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic (mild garlic flavor)
- Generous amount of Sesame Seeds (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one pack of acorn jelly. Rinse the acorn jelly lightly under running water. Get a tool ready for cutting the jelly into bite-sized pieces. (An acorn jelly cutter or a regular knife can be used.)
Step 2
Place the acorn jelly onto the cutting tool. Using the grooves on the tool makes it easier to cut the jelly into uniform thickness.
Step 3
Using a knife, cut the acorn jelly along the grooves of the tool. Aim for pieces about 1cm thick.
Step 4
Cut the sliced acorn jelly one more time to make it thinner. Cutting it thinly helps prevent the pieces from sticking together and allows the dressing to absorb better.
Step 5
Prepare the vegetables for the acorn jelly salad. Thinly slice the onion, cut the chives into 3-4cm lengths, and julienne the carrot thinly.
Step 6
In a large bowl or basin, combine the cut acorn jelly and all the prepared vegetables (onion, chives, carrot).
Step 7
Now it’s time to make and add the delicious dressing. To the bowl, add 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp tuna extract, 1 Tbsp sugar, a pinch of salt, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, and 2 Tbsp sesame oil for that nutty flavor.
Step 8
Gently mix everything together, as if you’re handling a baby, to avoid mashing the acorn jelly and vegetables. It’s important to mix softly so the dressing coats everything evenly. (Mixing too vigorously can cause the jelly to break apart.)
Step 9
Finally, plate the finished acorn jelly salad attractively. Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds for an even more appetizing presentation.
