Super Quick Microwave Steamed Egg Recipe
Effortlessly whip up fluffy and moist steamed eggs in your microwave! This recipe is perfect for busy mornings or when you need a quick, comforting dish.
Main Ingredients- 2 fresh eggs
- 200ml water (approx. 1 cup)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic (for enhanced flavor)
Seasoning- 1/2 tsp soy sauce or salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp sugar (for a hint of sweetness)
- 1 tsp cooking wine (like mirin, to remove egg odor)
- 1/2 tsp fish sauce (like Kkanari Aekjeot, for umami, optional)
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce or salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp sugar (for a hint of sweetness)
- 1 tsp cooking wine (like mirin, to remove egg odor)
- 1/2 tsp fish sauce (like Kkanari Aekjeot, for umami, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, crack the 2 eggs. Add all the seasoning ingredients (soy sauce/salt, sugar, cooking wine, fish sauce) and minced garlic. Whisk gently with a fork or whisk until the eggs are well beaten and the seasonings are evenly combined. No need to whisk vigorously.
Step 2
Carefully pour the combined egg mixture into a microwave-safe bowl or mug. Fill the container only about 70-80% full, as the mixture will expand as it cooks. Overfilling can cause it to spill over.
Step 3
Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave’s power. It’s best to start with 1 minute and 30 seconds and check the doneness. If it’s still too liquid, microwave in 15-30 second increments. Overcooking can make it dry or cause it to boil over. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick; it should come out clean.
