Ingredients

  • Canned corn (drained) 100g
  • Mayonnaise 2 Tbsp
  • Sugar 1 Tbsp
  • Butter 1 piece (approx. 10g)
  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese 60g

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Start by preparing 100g of canned corn. After draining the corn from the can, make sure to thoroughly remove any excess liquid. This step is crucial to prevent a watery texture and ensure a rich, savory flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

To the drained corn, add 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 piece of butter. For the butter, you can melt it slightly in the microwave or let it soften at room temperature to make mixing easier.

Step 2

Step 3

Using a spatula or spoon, mix all the ingredients together until the corn is evenly coated. It’s important to mix thoroughly, ensuring the butter and seasonings are well distributed among the corn kernels.

Step 3

Step 4

Transfer the seasoned corn mixture into a microwave-safe dish. Tear the slice of cheddar cheese into smaller pieces and scatter them over the corn. Then, generously sprinkle about 60g of shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese on top. Plenty of cheese makes this dish even more decadent!

Step 4

Step 5

Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid and cook for about 2 minutes. If you don’t have a lid, cover it with plastic wrap and poke a few holes with a fork to allow steam to escape. I found it best to cook for 1 minute, let it rest briefly, then cook for another minute to ensure the cheese melts perfectly without burning. It’s ready when the cheese is bubbly and golden, and the corn is heated through.

Step 6

Your delicious, cheesy corn bake is ready! Enjoy this piping hot for the best savory and slightly sweet flavor experience.
