Main Ingredients

  • 5 Bibigo frozen dumplings
  • 1 Egg
  • 30g Green onion
  • 100g Cooked rice

Seasoning

  • 0.5-1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

I’ve prepared green onions to make scallion oil, which adds a wonderful aroma to the fried rice. While you can make it with just frozen dumplings and eggs, adding green onions will create a richer flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Place the 5 frozen dumplings in a microwave-safe dish and microwave for about 1 minute to defrost. This will soften the dumplings, making them much easier to cook.

Step 2

Step 3

Using scissors, cut the defrosted dumplings into bite-sized pieces suitable for your child. You can trim off the slightly tougher edges of the dumpling wrappers for an even softer texture.

Step 3

Step 4

Wash the green onions thoroughly and then finely chop them. Make sure to chop them not too thick so your child can eat them easily.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the chopped green onions and sauté them gently until fragrant. It’s important to create scallion oil by allowing the green onion’s aroma to infuse the oil.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the scallions are fragrant, add the cut dumplings to the pan and stir-fry them with the scallion oil. Cook until the dumplings are lightly golden brown for a more delicious taste.

Step 6

Step 7

Push the dumplings to one side of the pan and crack the egg into the empty space. Scramble the egg until cooked, to your child’s preferred doneness – whether they like it slightly runny or fully cooked.

Step 7

Step 8

Now it’s time to add the rice. Adjust the amount of rice according to your child’s appetite or preference. 100g is approximately half a standard Korean rice bowl.

Step 8

Step 9

Mix the rice, dumplings, and egg together, then add 0.5 to 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Oyster sauce adds umami, but for baby food, it’s best to use a small amount or omit it entirely. Adjust the quantity to suit your child’s taste.

Step 9

Step 10

Stir-fry everything thoroughly until well combined. It’s best to fry the rice until the grains are separate and not clumped together, making it easier for your child to eat.

Step 10

Step 11

Finally, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a fragrant finish. Your delicious Mandu Egg Fried Rice is now complete! Serve it in a cute shape your child will love, and they’ll surely enjoy it even more. ♥
