Luxurious Flavor: Butter Cream Seafood Ramen
A Sophisticated Meal at Home: Butter Cream Seafood Ramen
Newly married and yearning for special recipes, I’ve been a silent observer on ‘Mangae Recipe’ daily. Seeing the recipe contest sparked an idea to try a ‘super simple dish’! Whether I win or not, this will be an invaluable experience, marking my transition from passive viewer to a confident home cook. I’ve carefully selected ingredients easily found at the mart or already in most kitchens, creating a recipe that’s incredibly simple and quick to make!
Main Ingredients- 4-5 Clams (or Manila clams)
- 4-5 Peeled Shrimp
- 1 Tbsp Sea squirt (or small abalone)
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 handful Bean sprouts
- 1/2 handful Washed napa cabbage kimchi (adjust to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash all your seafood and vegetables. Slice the onion thinly and finely chop the kimchi.
Step 2
Lightly oil a heated pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, clams, sea squirt (or abalone), and shrimp. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Season lightly with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the seafood’s flavor.
Step 3
Pour the 300ml of water into the pan and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add the ramen noodles. Add all of the dried vegetable packet from the ramen and only half (1/2) of the soup powder packet. (Adjust seasoning to your taste.)
Step 4
As the ramen begins to soften and cook (slightly al dente), gently separate the noodles with chopsticks. Then, pour in the 100ml of milk. The milk will make the broth wonderfully creamy and rich. Bring it back to a simmer.
Step 5
When the ramen is almost fully cooked, add the handful of bean sprouts. Stir gently just once, then immediately turn off the heat! This ensures the bean sprouts retain their crispness.
Step 6
With the heat turned off, add the 2 tablespoons of butter (or about 30g, roughly 2 pieces if using pre-portioned butter). Let the butter melt naturally; it will enrich the broth with its creamy flavor. Avoid stirring immediately; the residual heat will melt it beautifully.
Step 7
Once the butter has completely melted and is well incorporated, carefully transfer the ramen to a serving bowl. Finally, top with the finely chopped napa cabbage kimchi. The kimchi’s tanginess cuts through the richness of the butter cream sauce, making each bite even more delicious!
