  • Category : Main dish
  • Ingredient Category : Beef
  • Occasion : Bar food
  • Cooking : Pan-fry
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 200g Korean Beef Round Steak (Hongdukkae-sal)
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose Flour (using a paper cup as measure)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Green Onion

Seasoning

  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Black Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, place the beef round steak on paper towels and press firmly to completely drain out any blood. Removing the blood thoroughly is key to a clean, odor-free flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Once the blood is drained, lightly season the beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. Be careful not to over-season, as it can become too salty. A light touch is best.

Step 2

Step 3

Set the seasoned beef aside and prepare 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour (measured with a paper cup) on a wide plate.

Step 3

Step 4

Evenly coat the seasoned beef thinly with flour on both sides. Ensuring the flour adheres evenly will help the egg wash stick better.

Step 4

Step 5

In a bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon of minced green onion, and a pinch of salt until frothy and well combined to make the egg wash. The minced green onion adds a wonderful aroma and flavor to the Yukjeon.

Step 5

Step 6

Now, dip the flour-coated beef into the prepared egg wash, ensuring it’s fully coated on both sides with a nice layer of egg.

Step 6

Step 7

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. It’s important to cook over medium heat to prevent burning, as the thin beef cooks quickly. Cook carefully, ensuring it doesn’t burn.

Step 7

Step 8

Beef round steak is thin and cooks very quickly. Instead of flipping it too often, cook one side until golden brown, then gently flip and cook the other side until equally golden. This completes your delicious Yukjeon! It’s especially wonderful when served warm. ^^
