Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare and sauté the vegetables that will accompany the steak. Blanch about 1/3 of a broccoli head, cut into bite-sized florets. Slice 2 king oyster mushrooms and 1/2 onion. Drain the pineapple chunks from the can. Heat a little olive oil in a pan and sauté the prepared vegetables and pineapple together. Season lightly with salt and ground black pepper to enhance the natural flavors of the vegetables, which will add to the overall richness.
Step 2
Now, let’s make the special sauce that will define the flavor of our steak. Using a store-bought steak sauce as a base makes it even easier and more delicious! (I used a small steak sauce packet I received from the butcher shop previously, but regular store-bought steak sauce works perfectly well too, so don’t worry!)
Step 3
In a bowl, combine 50g of store-bought steak sauce, 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide, 1/3 cup apple juice, 2 Tbsp water, and a pinch of ground black pepper. Whisk well. Gently simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the flavors meld together, creating a deep and rich sauce.
Step 4
To enhance the texture of our pork neck steak, we’ll do a little something special. Lightly coat both sides of the pork neck slices with all-purpose flour. This step helps to create a crispier exterior when cooked and keeps the inside wonderfully juicy.
Step 5
Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Place the floured pork neck slices in the hot pan and sear until golden brown on both sides, flipping once. Once the exterior is nicely browned, reduce the heat to low and continue to cook slowly until the pork is cooked through. Be careful not to burn it. Cook each side thoroughly until golden brown for a tender and delicious steak.
Step 6
Arrange the beautifully cooked pork neck steak on a plate. Generously pour the special steak sauce you just made over the steak. (If you have fresh rosemary at home, you can add it for an aromatic touch, though it’s delicious even without it!)
Step 7
The accompanying vegetables were perfectly seasoned and tasted wonderful. My child especially loved the vegetables! Personally, I found the sautéed vegetables even more delicious than the meat. Seasoned simply with salt and pepper, the fresh, inherent flavors of the ingredients really shone through, making it extra delightful. I’m thinking of making these sautéed vegetables separately to use in fried rice sometime!
Step 8
This steak was so delicious that I made it again for my family a few days later! Pork is relatively inexpensive and can be enjoyed generously, making it a truly appealing ingredient. On that occasion, we paired it with a fresh salad and a soft fried egg for an even more abundant meal. You can freely choose any side dishes that pair well with the main course according to your preference. Create a happy mealtime with this wonderful homemade steak!
