Elevate Your Evening with a Restaurant-Quality Steak at Home
Inspired by pre-seasoned beef from E-mart, I decided to recreate a steak dinner! It was so good, I’m already planning to buy the ingredients separately next time to try making it from scratch. This recipe is perfect for a special occasion or a cozy night in, offering a tender, flavorful steak with perfectly sautéed vegetables and creamy potato salad.
Main Ingredients- High-quality beef (for steak) 300g
- 1 fresh onion
- 1.5 king oyster mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons potato salad
Sauces & Seasonings- 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard sauce
- 1 Tbsp steak sauce
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard sauce
- 1 Tbsp steak sauce
- 3 Tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Melt 1.5 Tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and starts to foam, it’s ready for the steak.
Step 2
Carefully place the seasoned steak into the hot skillet. Searing the steak over high heat will create a beautiful crust.
Step 3
Cook each side to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, about 2-3 minutes per side is usually good, and for medium, 3-4 minutes. (Tip: We used pre-seasoned Australian steak from E-mart, which made it incredibly easy and flavorful!)
Step 4
Once the steak is cooked, transfer it to a plate to rest. While the steak rests, add the remaining 1.5 Tbsp of butter to the same skillet. Sauté the sliced onion and mushrooms until they are tender and lightly browned. The natural sweetness from the vegetables complements the steak beautifully.
Step 5
Slice the rested steak into your preferred portions. Arrange the steak on a plate with the sautéed vegetables and a dollop of potato salad. You’ve now created a restaurant-worthy steak dinner right in your own home!
