Ice Cream Base- 1 container (900ml) Vanilla Ice Cream
- 430g Unsweetened Plain Yogurt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by preparing the ice cream base. You’ll need one 900ml container of store-bought vanilla ice cream and 430g of unsweetened plain yogurt. Using plain yogurt helps to moderate the sweetness and adds a refreshing tang.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the vanilla ice cream and plain yogurt. If the ice cream is very hard, let it soften at room temperature for a few minutes to make mixing easier.
Step 3
Using a whisk or a spatula, thoroughly mix the ice cream and yogurt until smooth and well combined, with no lumps. Ensure the creamy texture of the ice cream and the thickness of the yogurt are evenly blended.
Step 4
Pour the mixed ice cream base into an airtight container or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Place it in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Step 5
While the ice cream is freezing, periodically remove it from the freezer (every 1-2 hours) and stir vigorously with a fork or whisk. This process, repeated 2-3 times, helps to create a smoother, more scoopable ice cream texture.
Step 6
When the ice cream is nearly frozen, melt 90g of the dark chocolate bar for topping. You can melt it gently using a double boiler or in the microwave.
Step 7
Scoop the finished yogurt ice cream into serving bowls or the original ice cream container. Ensure it’s nicely portioned after being firmly frozen.
Step 8
Finally, drizzle the melted chocolate over the ice cream in a decorative pattern. Then, generously add your chosen toppings like roasted whole almonds, frozen raspberries, and Mitsuboshi biscuits. Your impressive yogurt ice cream, reminiscent of cafe-style desserts, is now ready to be enjoyed – a perfect blend of sweet and tangy!
