Main Ingredients
  • 100g popping corn kernels
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s start with the first method for plain popcorn. Place a pot or deep frying pan over medium heat and preheat for about 3 minutes. Then, add 1 Tbsp of vegetable oil and continue preheating for another 2 minutes until the oil is hot. This step is crucial for ensuring the corn kernels heat evenly and pop successfully.

Step 2

Add 1 tsp of salt to the heated oil and stir well. The key here is to distribute the salt evenly in the oil so that the popcorn is seasoned consistently.

Step 3

Now, pour 50g of popcorn kernels into the pan. Spread them out in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. This even distribution allows heat to reach each kernel properly for optimal popping.

Step 4

Cover the pot with a lid and maintain medium heat. The kernels will soon begin to pop and expand into fluffy popcorn. Be mindful of the heat; too high and the corn might burn, too low and they won’t pop. Adjust the heat as needed. Once the popping sounds become infrequent or stop altogether, immediately turn off the heat and remove the lid to prevent burning. Your delicious, plain popcorn is ready!

Step 5

Now for the second method, creating rich, buttery popcorn. Add 1 Tbsp of vegetable oil and stir in 1 tsp of salt, preheating the pan in the same way as the first method. Once the pan is sufficiently hot, add 1 Tbsp of butter and let it melt completely. After the butter has melted, add the remaining 50g of popcorn kernels.

Step 6

Again, cover the pot with a lid and continue heating over medium heat. The kernels, infused with the delightful butter flavor, will transform into delicious popcorn. Just like with the first method, monitor the heat closely and turn it off once the popping sounds subside.

Step 7

Both the buttery and plain popcorn varieties are now perfectly made! They taste best when enjoyed immediately while warm. Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings to customize your popcorn even further. Enjoy your homemade movie snack!
