Homemade McMuffin Delight
Crafting the Perfect McMuffin at Home
While staying at my parents’ place and with them away, I took over the kitchen to create my very own McMuffin! This recipe offers a delightful, homemade twist on a breakfast classic, perfect for a satisfying start to your day.
Dough & Fillings- Water, 3 Tbsp
- Salt, 1/4 tsp
- Egg, 1 large
- Cooking oil, 1/2 Tbsp
- All-purpose flour, 4 ladles (approx. 200g)
- Milk, 3 Tbsp
- Canned ham slices, 1 can (or your favorite ham)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s make the muffin buns. In a bowl, combine 4 ladles of flour, 3 Tbsp of water, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Knead the mixture until it forms a cohesive dough with some elasticity. Adjust the consistency by adding a little more flour if it’s too sticky, or a bit more water if it’s too dry. Once the dough is ready, heat 1/2 Tbsp of cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Divide the dough and shape it into flat, round patties. Cook them on both sides until golden brown and cooked through. Set the cooked buns aside on a plate.
Step 2
Next, we’ll prepare the star of the McMuffin: the egg. Lightly grease a clean skillet with a touch of cooking oil. Crack 1 large egg into the pan. Cook it to your desired doneness, but typically for a McMuffin, you’ll want to cook it in a round mold or freehand to create a circular patty without breaking the yolk. Aim for a size similar to your muffin buns.
Step 3
We’re almost there! Place the ham slices in the same skillet (or a separate one) and pan-fry them until they’re warm and slightly crisped. You can cut the ham into desired shapes or sizes. Now, assemble your McMuffin: place the warm ham slices onto one of the cooked muffin buns, followed by the round fried egg. Finally, gently drizzle 3 Tbsp of milk over the other muffin bun for extra moisture and tenderness. Top everything off with the milk-drizzled bun to complete your delicious homemade McMuffin! Enjoy it immediately while it’s warm.
