- Peanut Butter (unsweetened recommended) 2-3 Tbsp
- Dark Chocolate (70% cacao or higher recommended) 2-3 Tbsp, melted or finely chopped
- Concord Grapes (or other large grapes) 3-4, deseeded and quartered
- Shine Muscat Grapes 3-4, deseeded and quartered
- Frozen Blueberries 2-3 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, get a container of plain Greek yogurt. I used one I bought from the supermarket. Greek yogurt has a higher protein content and a thicker texture than regular yogurt, making it excellent for creating ice bars.
Step 2
While ice cream molds are great, using silicone ice cube trays you already have at home is incredibly convenient. Ice cube trays are easy to detach one by one and allow you to create ice bars of various sizes.
Step 3
Pour the plain Greek yogurt into the prepared silicone ice cube tray. Fill it only about halfway up the bottom of each cube mold. The key to this recipe is to highlight the natural taste of yogurt without added sugar, so no sweetener is added. You can enjoy this as a guilt-free, low-calorie diet snack.
Step 4
Next, prepare the peanut butter to add a rich flavor. Using unsweetened peanut butter will make it even healthier.
Step 5
If you want to add the nutty flavor of peanut butter to your yogurt ice cream, try incorporating it at this step. It pairs wonderfully with yogurt, making the ice cream taste much richer.
Step 6
It’s time to add a refreshing taste with crisp green grapes or Shine Muscat grapes. Prepare about two Shine Muscat grapes, remove the seeds, and chop them into small pieces, about 1/4 size.
Step 7
Now, let’s add a slightly bitter yet deep flavor using dark chocolate. Using 100% cacao dark chocolate with very little sweetness will give your ice cream a more sophisticated taste. Melt it or chop it finely.
Step 8
Now, add ingredients for a variety of colors and flavors. Use the frozen blueberries as they are. For the Concord grapes, remove the seeds and cut them into pieces, or add them whole if they are easy to handle. Eating the Concord grapes with their skins on is even better.
Step 9
Let’s list the ingredients we’ve added so far. Layered one by one, they are: first, a sprinkle of dark chocolate, then the chopped Concord grapes, followed by a generous dollop of peanut butter. Next, the refreshing Shine Muscat grapes and the tart frozen blueberries! This way, you can enjoy a harmonious ice bar with a total of 6 delicious flavors. Exciting, isn’t it?
Step 10
Finally, fill the ice cube tray completely by pouring more plain Greek yogurt over the ingredients. Then, cover the tray with its lid and freeze for a full day until solid. It needs to be thoroughly frozen to be enjoyed as an ice bar.
Step 11
Alright, a day has passed and the ice bars are frozen solid! The biggest advantage of silicone ice cube trays is that you can pop them right out without any thawing process. I was curious about the inside of the finished yogurt bars, so I cut all of them in half to see the cross-section. The layers of each ingredient look appetizing!
Step 12
This is a creamy ice cream that blends the rich flavor of peanut butter with yogurt.
Step 13
A refreshing yogurt bar with bursting blueberries for a sweet and sour taste.
Step 14
A delightful yogurt bar with chewy Shine Muscat grapes, offering a sweet and fragrant flavor.
Step 15
An ice cream that harmonizes the nuttiness of peanut butter with the slight bitterness of dark chocolate.
Step 16
A cool and delicious low-calorie yogurt bar with sweet Concord grapes.
