Homemade Cafe-Style Milk Tea
Easy Homemade Milk Tea Recipe for Your Home Cafe
Indulge in the delightful harmony of fragrant black tea and creamy milk! This recipe allows you to enjoy cafe-quality milk tea right in your own kitchen. It’s perfect for keeping chilled in the refrigerator to refresh yourself on hot days, making it an essential home cafe beverage.
Ingredients- Black tea leaves or tea bags: 6g (approx. 3 tea bags)
- Water: 120ml
- Milk: 180ml
- Sugar or syrup (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, pour 120ml of water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
Step 2
As soon as the water starts boiling, turn off the heat and add 6g of black tea leaves. If using tea bags, about 3 bags will work well. Let the tea steep for 2 to 3 minutes to allow the tea’s aroma to infuse into the water.
Step 3
Once the tea has steeped nicely, pour in 180ml of milk.
Step 4
After adding the milk, gently heat it over low heat. Be careful not to boil it over high heat!
Step 5
When you see small bubbles starting to form around the edges of the pot, turn off the heat just before it begins to boil rapidly. Getting this timing right is key!
Step 6
Finally, adjust the sweetness by adding sugar or syrup to your preference. Add more sugar if you like it sweet, or use syrup or a small amount of sugar for a cleaner taste.
Step 7
Turn off the heat, then carefully strain the tea leaves using a fine-mesh sieve. Pour the milk tea gently into your favorite teacup.
Step 8
I personally prefer my milk tea cold, so I store the finished milk tea in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator and enjoy it chilled. Making a batch this way means you can always have a delicious home cafe drink ready to go!
