Super Easy, Large Batch Side Dish! How to Make Delicious Sausage and Fish Cake Curry Stir-fry
Don’t forget a good side dish to go with your rice! I recently bought a lot of fish cakes and found myself with an abundance at home. Wondering what to do with them, I decided to make a quick stir-fry after a long time. Here’s how to make Sausage and Fish Cake Curry Stir-fry. It’s perfect for making a large batch of side dishes.
Ingredients- 5 sheets of Korean fish cake (eomuk)
- 20 mini sausages (or 2 regular sausages)
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1/2 medium carrot
- 1 stalk of green onion
- 2 Tbsp curry powder
- 0.5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp sugar
- 3 Tbsp cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the vegetables. Thinly slice the onion into strips. Cut the carrot into similar-sized strips. Finely chop the green onion and set aside.
Step 2
Cut the fish cakes into pieces similar in size to the onion slices. If using mini sausages, cut them in half. If using regular sausages, slice them into thick rounds. Once the ingredients are prepped, you’re almost done!
Step 3
Now, let’s start stir-frying. Heat 3 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the prepared sausages and cook until they are lightly browned and slightly plump. Sautéing them until they are golden brown will enhance their flavor.
Step 4
Once the sausages are nicely browned, add the sliced fish cakes to the pan and stir-fry together. Cooking the fish cakes until they’re slightly golden will give them a chewier texture.
Step 5
Next, add the julienned carrot and onion. Stir-fry everything together until the vegetables are slightly softened. If the pan seems too dry, feel free to add a little more cooking oil.
Step 6
When the fish cakes and vegetables are cooked, it’s time to add the flavor enhancers. Stir in 0.5 tablespoon of sugar, 0.5 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of curry powder. Stir well to ensure the curry powder coats all the ingredients evenly. It’s important to mix the curry powder thoroughly to avoid clumps. Once the seasoning is well combined, taste a small amount and adjust with a pinch more sugar if needed to suit your preference.
Step 7
Finally, turn off the heat. Add the finely chopped green onions to the pan and stir them in the residual heat for about 2 minutes, allowing their subtle aroma to infuse into the dish. This final step adds a wonderful fragrance.
Step 8
Voilà! Your delicious Sausage and Fish Cake Curry Stir-fry is ready. Serve it over hot rice for a satisfying meal!
