Jinmichae Gimbap: Easy Ingredient Prep for Delicious Side Dish Gimbap, Perfect for Breakfast and Packing Lunchboxes
A delicious homemade gimbap recipe made with leftover side dishes from the refrigerator!
Main Ingredients- 1 serving of freshly cooked warm rice
- 2 sheets of gimbap seaweed (nori)
- Deliciously seasoned Jinmichae Muchim (use existing side dish)
- 2 fresh eggs
- Finely julienned carrots
- A pinch of fine salt
- Sliced ham or sausage
- A handful of fresh chives
- Healthy brown rice oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, crack two eggs and whisk them thoroughly. Add the finely julienned carrots and a pinch of salt to season. Heat a pan with a thin layer of brown rice oil over medium-low heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, flipping, until golden brown to make a delicious rolled omelet. Instead of rolling it thickly from the start, making thinner layers and rolling them up will result in a much softer texture.
Step 2
Since we are making two rolls of gimbap today, cut the rolled omelet in half to match the length of the gimbap rolls for easier insertion.
Step 3
Blanch the ham or sausage in boiling water to remove impurities, then rinse thoroughly. After draining, place it in a dry pan over low heat and cook just enough to remove excess moisture, which will give it a chewier texture. Be careful not to burn it while cooking.
Step 4
Wash the fresh chives under running water until clean and shake off excess moisture. Then, cut them into appropriate lengths for easy placement inside the gimbap and set aside.
Step 5
Prepare your delicious Jinmichae Muchim side dish that you have on hand. (It’s even more convenient to use a pre-made Jinmichae Muchim recipe. Click here for the recipe: @7032054)
Step 6
Place the gimbap seaweed with the rough side facing up. Spread a thin and even layer of freshly cooked warm rice over it. If you add too much rice, the gimbap might burst, so use a moderate amount. Arrange the prepared rolled omelet, ham, chives, and Jinmichae Muchim attractively over the rice.
Step 7
Roll the gimbap tightly. You can mash a few grains of rice and spread them on the edge of the seaweed to help seal it securely. Cut the finished gimbap into bite-sized pieces, and your hearty and delicious Jinmichae Gimbap is complete!
