Whip up a nutritious and flavorful fried rice using leftover vegetables and beef from your fridge. It’s quick, easy, and guaranteed to be a hit with both kids and adults.
Ingredients- 250g ground beef
- 1 bowl of brown rice (warm)
- 30g carrot (finely diced)
- 40g onion (finely diced)
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds (toasted)
- 3 Tbsp cooking oil (canola recommended)
- 1/2 tsp chicken stock powder (or a pinch of salt)
- Seaweed (garnish, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ground beef. Briefly blanch the ground beef in boiling water. This step helps remove any blood and impurities, ensuring a clean flavor. As soon as the water comes to a boil, turn off the heat, drain the beef in a colander, and pat it dry.
Step 2
Next, prepare the vegetables that will add texture and flavor to your fried rice. Finely dice the carrot and onion. Dicing the vegetables small will help them integrate well with the rice and make it easier for children to eat.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium heat and add 3 tablespoons of cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken stock powder and stir for a moment to release its aroma. Then, add the prepared ground beef and diced carrots and stir-fry. When the carrots are about halfway cooked and slightly translucent, add the diced onion and continue to stir-fry until the vegetables are tender.
Step 4
Once the beef and vegetables are well-cooked, add a bowl of warm brown rice. Use a spatula to break up any clumps and stir-fry, mixing everything evenly. Once the rice is well combined with the other ingredients, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the dried parsley, sesame oil, and sesame seeds, and mix gently to finish.
Step 5
Transfer the delicious beef fried rice to a serving bowl. If desired, sprinkle with finely chopped seaweed or extra sesame seeds for an even more appealing presentation.
