Healthy & Easy Greek Yogurt Bark
Make Delicious Greek Yogurt Bark with a Simple Recipe
Create a healthy yogurt ice cream by simply freezing Greek yogurt with fruits and nuts. This dish is perfect for replenishing protein and healthy fats, serving as a nutritious snack option made with Greek yogurt.
Ingredients- 1 pack thick Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 handful of your favorite nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
- A drizzle of honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash and pat dry all your fresh fruits. For the strawberries, remove the stems and gently pat them with a paper towel to ensure no moisture remains. Do the same for the blueberries, rinsing them lightly and drying completely. Excess water can make the bark less firm.
Step 2
Slice the strawberries into even, bite-sized pieces. Aim for a thickness that complements the yogurt and provides a pleasant chew. Uniform slices will also look aesthetically pleasing on the bark.
Step 3
Line a large, flat baking sheet or tray with parchment paper (baking paper). This prevents the yogurt from sticking and makes it easy to remove once frozen.
Step 4
Pour the Greek yogurt onto the parchment-lined tray. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread it thinly and evenly, aiming for a thickness of about 1 to 1.5 cm. A uniform layer ensures consistent freezing.
Step 5
Before the yogurt begins to set, gently press your prepared sliced strawberries, blueberries, and nuts into the surface of the yogurt. Arrange them decoratively according to your preference. If desired, lightly drizzle with honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
Step 6
Cover the toppings with another sheet of parchment paper. Carefully transfer the tray to the freezer and let it freeze for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight, until completely solid. A well-frozen bark will break apart cleanly.
Step 7
Once the yogurt bark is fully frozen, remove the tray from the freezer. Gently peel off the top layer of parchment paper. Handle with care as it will be very cold.
Step 8
Break the frozen yogurt bark into desired shapes and sizes by hand, or use a knife to cut it into pieces. You can go for rustic, broken pieces or clean, sharp cuts for a more polished look.
Step 9
Enjoy your refreshing and delicious Greek Yogurt Bark! This vibrant and healthy snack offers both delightful flavor and visual appeal. Make this simple yet impressive treat in your own kitchen!
