I’ve come up with a simple way to enjoy ginseng by making ginseng syrup, which can be easily used in cooking whenever needed. Here’s a recipe for delicious and healthy stir-fried anchovies with ginseng.

Main Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp minced ginseng
  • 2 Tbsp oligo syrup (or corn syrup)
  • 1/2 cup dried anchovies (small size)
  • 1 tsp minced red or green chili pepper

Seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

First, prepare all the ingredients needed for the recipe. Having the minced ginseng, oligo syrup, dried anchovies, minced chili pepper, and seasoning ingredients measured and ready will make the cooking process much smoother.

To remove any fishy smell from the anchovies and make them extra crispy, spread them evenly in a bowl and toast them. Place them in an air fryer set at 160°C (320°F) for about 5 minutes. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can gently toast them in a dry pan over low heat until they are crispy. Freshly toasted anchovies are incredibly fragrant and delicious.

Finely mince the red or green chili pepper that will add a spicy kick. Wash the pepper, remove the stem, and mince it very finely. Removing the seeds can help control the spiciness.

Now, let’s make the base for our ginseng syrup. In a blender, combine 2 tablespoons of minced ginseng and 2 tablespoons of oligo syrup. Blend until smooth. This will create a delicious ginseng syrup infused with the unique aroma of ginseng.
