Salt Grilled Shrimp Ingredients- Approx. 20 fresh raw shrimp
- 2 cups coarse sea salt
Garlic Butter Shrimp Heads Ingredients- 40g unsalted butter
- 1.5 tsp minced garlic
- 40g unsalted butter
- 1.5 tsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Line a frying pan with a lid using aluminum foil. Spread 2 cups of coarse sea salt evenly over the foil. This helps the shrimp cook uniformly.
Step 2
Do not place the shrimp on the salt immediately. Instead, heat the salt over medium heat until it’s hot. Once the salt is hot, reduce the heat slightly and arrange the fresh shrimp evenly on top. Then, firmly close the lid of the frying pan to trap the heat.
Step 3
Grill the shrimp over medium heat for about 14 to 15 minutes. For even cooking, you can flip the shrimp halfway through. This ensures a perfectly cooked salt-grilled shrimp.
Step 4
Once the salt-grilled shrimp are done, carefully remove them to a plate. Using scissors, trim off only the heads of the shrimp. In the same (cleaned) pan, melt 40g of butter over low heat. Add 1.5 tsp of minced garlic and wait until the butter is fully melted and fragrant.
Step 5
Once the butter is melted and the garlic aroma is released, add the reserved shrimp heads to the pan. Toss them to coat evenly with the garlic butter. Fry over low heat until the shrimp heads are crispy and golden brown. This completes your delicious garlic butter shrimp heads! Serve them alongside the succulent salt-grilled shrimp for a truly satisfying meal.
