- 2 tsp Grated Ginger (or ginger powder, ginger wine)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients for your Bulgogi. Wash and dry the vegetables, and have your beef sliced for Bulgogi.
Step 2
Using paper towels, gently press down on the sirloin slices to absorb any excess blood. Removing the blood helps create a cleaner, more flavorful Bulgogi without any gamey taste.
Step 3
Add 4 tablespoons of plum extract to the drained beef and gently massage it into the meat. Let it marinate for about 5 minutes. This step tenderizes the beef and further removes any unwanted odors.
Step 4
In a blender, combine 1/3 onion and 1/3 cup of pear juice. Blend until smooth. The natural sweetness from the fruit will enhance the overall flavor of your Bulgogi.
Step 5
Now, let’s make the delicious marinade. To the blended fruit mixture, add 5 tablespoons of water, 6 tablespoons of soy sauce, 4 tablespoons of brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 2 teaspoons of grated ginger, and a pinch of black pepper.
Step 6
Tip! If you don’t have fresh grated ginger, you can use ginger powder or a splash of ginger wine. Feel free to adjust the amount to your preference.
Step 7
Mix all the marinade ingredients thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour this marinade over the beef that was marinated with plum extract. Mix well to coat every piece of meat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to deepen.
Step 8
While the beef is marinating, thinly slice the green onion diagonally, and julienne the onion and carrot into thick strips. Slicing them this way will give a pleasant texture when stir-fried.
Step 9
It’s time to start cooking! Heat a pan over high heat and add the marinated beef. Stir-frying over high heat from the beginning helps to sear the meat and lock in the juices, ensuring a tender result.
Step 10
Stir the beef every minute, cooking for about 3 minutes, or just until the pinkness disappears. Be careful not to overcook, as it can become tough. Once the beef is partially cooked, add the sliced green onions, onions, and carrots. Stir-fry for another 30 seconds. Turn off the heat and drizzle with half a tablespoon of sesame oil.
Step 11
Give it one final toss in the residual heat of the pan. Your delicious, glossy Korean Bulgogi is now complete! Serve it hot over a bowl of steamed rice.
