Ingredients- 1 pack Ham-flavored ramen
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 30g ham (like Spam)
- 30g kimchi
- 2 Tbsp green onion oil (scallion oil)
- 1/2 chopped Cheongyang chili pepper (or other spicy chili)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, heat 2 tablespoons of green onion oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it. Once the garlic is fragrant, add 30g of chopped ham and stir-fry for about 15 seconds until the ham is lightly browned and its flavor is released.
Step 2
After stir-frying the ham, add the dried vegetable mix (garnish packet), soup powder packet, and 30g of chopped kimchi to the same pan. Stir-fry everything together for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld.
Step 3
Reduce the heat to low and continue to stir-fry the soup base, kimchi, and ham until it becomes a deep, dark brown color and starts to stick slightly to the pan. Don’t worry if it looks burnt – it’s actually caramelizing and deepening the flavor, a crucial step for this recipe’s intense taste! This process concentrates the delicious essence of the ingredients. For those who find the order or technique a bit confusing, please refer to the accompanying video for a clear visual guide.
