- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 pinch sugar (optional, to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, I’ll show you how to make everyone’s favorite snack, potato wedges, super easily and quickly using an air fryer. Enjoy these golden wedges that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, right in your own home!
Step 2
First, it’s important to properly prepare the potatoes, the star of our wedges. Since we’ll be cooking them with the skin on, use a scrub brush to thoroughly clean the surface of the potatoes, removing any dirt or debris. Once cleaned, cut each potato in half, and then cut each half into 3-4 wedges. You can adjust the thickness based on the size of your potatoes. After cutting, soak the potato wedges in cold water for 10-15 minutes to remove excess starch. This step is key to achieving extra crispiness!
Step 3
After soaking, drain the potato wedges completely and pat them dry. Place them in a bowl to prepare for seasoning. Add 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of dried parsley, and a pinch of sugar. The sugar slightly enhances the natural sweetness of the potatoes, but feel free to omit it if you prefer. For an extra flavor boost, you can also add a bit of unsalted butter (softened at room temperature) to the mix and toss everything together.
Step 4
To the bowl with the potato wedges, add the 2 tsp of olive oil along with the seasonings. Gently toss everything together with your hands, ensuring that the seasoning coats each wedge evenly. Thoroughly coating the potatoes with the seasoning mixture will result in more flavorful wedges.
Step 5
Now, preheat your air fryer and line the basket with parchment paper. Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap too much for even cooking. Start by air frying at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, carefully remove the basket, flip the wedges over, and return them to the air fryer. Continue to cook at 180°C (350°F) for another 15 minutes. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model, the size of the potato pieces, and how crispy you like them. Feel free to check on them periodically and adjust the cooking time as needed to reach your desired level of crispiness.
Step 6
Voila! Your perfectly golden and crispy potato wedges are ready. They are incredibly crisp on the outside and delightfully fluffy on the inside. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup or mustard for an even better taste. Enjoy these simple, homemade air fryer potato wedges!
