Ingredients- 6 medium potatoes
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp butter
- A pinch of parsley flakes
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the star of our show: the potatoes! Wash the potatoes thoroughly, then cut them into bite-sized pieces or shapes suitable for frying. You can either boil them in a pot with enough water to cover or steam them. Cook until a fork can easily pierce them, indicating they are tender. (This should take about 15-20 minutes).
Step 2
While the potatoes are cooking, let’s make the flavorful sauce. Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted, stir in 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix well. Be careful not to let the butter burn by keeping the heat moderate. (It’s a good idea to prepare this sauce beforehand so you can quickly toss the potatoes in it once they’re cooked).
Step 3
Drain the cooked potatoes and add them to the pan with the prepared butter sauce. Increase the heat to medium-high and sauté the potatoes, allowing them to turn golden brown. It’s crucial to stir and toss the potatoes continuously for about 5-7 minutes, ensuring they become slightly crispy on the outside and are well-coated with the buttery sauce. Keep them moving to prevent sticking.
Step 4
Once the potatoes have achieved a mouthwatering golden hue and are fragrant with butter, sprinkle a pinch of parsley flakes over them. Give the potatoes a final gentle toss to distribute the parsley. This not only makes them visually appealing but also adds a delightful aromatic touch. Serve immediately while warm for the absolute best taste!
