Seasoning Ingredients- 1 tsp Sunflower Oil (or Olive Oil)
- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Oligodang (Korean Corn Syrup)
- 300ml Water (approx. 1.5 paper cups)
- 2 Tbsp Rice Wine (Mirin or Cooking Wine)
- A little Sesame Oil
- A little Sesame Seeds
- 1 tsp Sunflower Oil (or Olive Oil)
- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Oligodang (Korean Corn Syrup)
- 300ml Water (approx. 1.5 paper cups)
- 2 Tbsp Rice Wine (Mirin or Cooking Wine)
- A little Sesame Oil
- A little Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a pan or pot with a decent depth. Add all 450g of boiled quail eggs to the pan. Pour in 300ml of water (about 1.5 paper cups).
Step 2
Add 4 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of oyster sauce, 3 Tbsp of oligodang, and 2 Tbsp of rice wine (Mirin or any cooking wine will work if you don’t have rice wine). For that signature gloss, stir in 1 tsp of sunflower oil (olive oil is also a good option). Bring to a boil over high heat. You can adjust the sweetness by adding more oligodang or sugar according to your preference.
Step 3
Wash the 100g of Korean green peppers and remove their stems. Make 2-3 small slits in each pepper with scissors. This allows the flavorful sauce to penetrate the peppers, making them even tastier.
Step 4
Let the quail eggs simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes over medium heat. Once the sauce has slightly coated the quail eggs, add the slit green peppers and continue to simmer for another 5 to 8 minutes. Be mindful of the cooking time for the peppers to prevent them from becoming too mushy.
Step 5
Finally, turn off the heat. Drizzle with a little sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a perfect finish. Enjoy your delicious braised quail eggs with Korean green peppers with a side of warm rice!
