- 3 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)

- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 piece butter (approx. 20g)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Take the beef out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before you start cooking to let it come to room temperature. This helps the meat cook more evenly and become more tender. Thinly slice the onion, then thinly slice the carrot. Lightly smash the whole garlic cloves with the side of a knife, then slice them thinly.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium-high heat without any oil. Add the beef and sear for 1-2 minutes per side, creating a nice brown crust while locking in the juices. Season generously with salt and pepper as it sears.
Step 3
Once the beef is nicely browned on all sides, reduce the heat slightly. Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3cm (around 1 inch). Cutting it too small might affect the texture, so aim for a satisfying size.
Step 4
Add the sliced onion, carrot, and garlic to the pan with the beef. Increase the heat back to medium-high and stir-fry everything together quickly until the vegetables are slightly tender-crisp. It’s important to maintain a pleasant crunch in the vegetables.
Step 5
When the vegetables begin to soften slightly, push the ingredients to one side of the pan. Add the piece of butter to the empty space. Once the butter starts to melt, quickly toss all the ingredients together. The butter will coat the beef and vegetables, adding a wonderful richness and flavor.
Step 6
Finally, add the minced garlic and stir-fry for another 30 seconds until fragrant, then immediately turn off the heat. Transfer the beef and vegetable stir-fry to a serving plate. Taste and adjust seasoning with a little more salt and freshly ground pepper if needed. Serving this with a perfectly fried egg on top makes it an even more complete and delicious meal.
Step 7
Tip: The beef in the photo has a darker color because black garlic salt was used. Grinding whole black peppercorns and storing them in a herb salt container adds a fragrant touch. Using black garlic powder or salt can bring a unique and special flavor profile to the dish.
