- 6 fresh perilla leaves (wash and thinly slice)
- 20cm green onion (slice diagonally)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Soak the frozen rice cakes in cold water for about 10-15 minutes to thaw. This prevents them from sticking together and makes them chewier.
Step 2
In a wide pot, combine 200ml of water with the ‘Seokgwandong Garlic Tteokbokki’ sauce packet over high heat. Stir to dissolve the sauce and bring to a boil.
Step 3
Once the sauce mixture starts boiling, add the thawed rice cakes and (if included in the product) fish cakes. Stir well to prevent the rice cakes from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Step 4
Simmer over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes until the rice cakes are tender and the sauce has thickened. Then, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is reduced to a rich consistency for a deeper flavor.
Step 5
Finally, add the prepared fresh perilla leaves and green onions according to your preference and cook for a little longer. This adds fragrance and a refreshing taste, making it even more delicious. Enjoy!
