Ingredients (for a 360ml glass)- 5 fresh strawberries
- 2 tbsp organic unrefined sugar
- 125ml apple limeade
- 100ml sparkling water
- 100g ice cubes (approx. 2/3 of a paper cup)
- 1 fresh strawberry for garnish
- 1 lemon or lime wedge for garnish
- 1 sprig fresh apple mint
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by thoroughly washing the fresh strawberries under running water and removing the stems. Then, cut the strawberries into smaller pieces, about quarters or sixths. Cutting them smaller will make them easier to muddle.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of organic unrefined sugar to the chopped strawberries. You can adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of the strawberries and your personal preference.
Step 3
Using a spoon or fork, gently muddle the strawberries and sugar together. The goal is to release the juices and combine them well with the sugar, but it’s nice to leave some small strawberry chunks for texture.
Step 4
Gently bruise the apple mint leaves by lightly pressing them with your hand or the back of a spoon. This action releases more of their aromatic oils, enhancing the mojito’s fragrance. Be careful not to crush them too much.
Step 5
Now, transfer the muddled strawberry mixture into your serving glass. This will form the flavorful base of your drink.
Step 6
Carefully pour 125ml of apple limeade over the muddled strawberries. The tartness of the limeade will complement the sweetness of the fruit.
Step 7
Prepare your garnish by taking a lemon or lime wedge and gently squeezing it to release its juice. The fresh citrus zest will add another layer of brightness to the drink.
Step 8
Place the squeezed lemon or lime wedge into the glass along with the drink. This adds a nice visual appeal and an extra hint of citrus aroma.
Step 9
Fill the glass generously with ice cubes. Using plenty of ice will keep your mojito delightfully cold for longer.
Step 10
Finally, top off the glass with plain sparkling water until it’s full. The effervescence of the sparkling water adds a refreshing fizz to the cocktail.
Step 11
For the final touch, cut the garnish strawberry into quarters and place it on top of the drink. Add a sprig of fresh apple mint. Your beautiful and delicious Fresh Strawberry Mojito is now complete! Give it a gentle stir and enjoy this delightful treat.
