Ingredients- 300g White Red Bean Paste
- 50g Almond Flour
- 2 Tbsp Corn Syrup
- 1 Tbsp Green Tea Powder
- A pinch of Sprinkles (for decoration)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, in a generous bowl, place 300g of smooth white red bean paste. Add 50g of almond flour for a nutty flavor and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup to adjust the paste’s consistency and add a subtle sweetness. Mix thoroughly with a spatula or your hands until well combined. Ensure the paste is smooth and free of lumps.
Step 2
Next, sift 1 tablespoon of fine green tea powder into the bowl to add a delicate, aromatic green tea flavor. Knead the mixture again until the green tea powder is evenly distributed throughout the red bean paste, completing the dough. The subtle bitterness of the green tea will beautifully complement the sweetness of the red bean paste, creating a sophisticated flavor.
Step 3
Transfer the finished green tea red bean paste dough into a piping bag. Choose a piping tip that is not too large, allowing for detailed cookie designs.
Step 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using the piping bag, carefully pipe the red bean paste dough onto the parchment paper, shaping it. Start with a smaller base and gradually widen as you pipe upwards to create a natural Christmas tree silhouette. It’s important to pipe a consistent thickness so the cookies bake evenly.
Step 5
Once the basic tree shape is formed, insert a wooden skewer or chopstick into the top part of the cookie. This will serve as a handle for easy holding and eating.
Step 6
Using the piping bag, pipe the dough in a zigzag motion along the edges of the tree shape, moving from the top down. Make the top narrower and the bottom wider to create a full, three-dimensional tree appearance. Intricate piping will enhance the cookie’s final look.
Step 7
After piping the tree shapes, decorate them with sprinkles. The colorful sprinkles will add a festive Christmas touch and make the cookies look even more appealing. Sprinkle them evenly for a beautiful finish.
Step 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 15-20 minutes. The cookies are ready when the tops are lightly golden and the edges are slightly browned. Baking time may vary depending on your oven. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack for a crispier texture.
