Fragrant Garlic Fried Rice
Flavorful Garlic Fried Rice: Simple Yet Exquisite! Great for Diets Too!
When you’re suddenly hungry, have limited ingredients at home, but crave something delicious, this simple yet deeply flavorful garlic fried rice is the perfect solution. Packed with healthy garlic, it’s a great option for those on a diet, and its aromatic garlic scent is sure to whet your appetite.
Main Ingredients- 5 slices garlic
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 bowl of rice (cold or instant)
- Coconut oil (or cooking oil)
- 1/2 ladle of olive oil
- 20g butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s create the ‘garlic oil,’ which is the heart of this fried rice. Heat about 1/2 ladle of coconut oil (or your preferred cooking oil) and olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
Step 2
Next, add the 5 slices of garlic along with the minced garlic to infuse a richer garlic flavor.
Step 3
While freshly cooked warm rice is fine, using cold or instant rice will result in fluffier, more distinct grains in your fried rice. Alternatively, you can simply mix rice with garlic oil, a dash of soy sauce, a pinch of salt, and a small piece of butter for a delicious garlic fried rice. Today, I’ll be using a packet of pre-made japchae fried rice I have at home.
Step 4
Gently sauté the minced and sliced garlic in the oil over medium-low heat. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Cook until it turns golden brown and releases a wonderful aroma. This process creates your fragrant garlic oil.
Step 5
You could sauté the sliced garlic first to release its aroma before adding the minced garlic, but for convenience, I added both at the same time. Feel free to adjust the order to your preference.
Step 6
I’ve taken out one packet of japchae fried rice directly from the freezer. It’s tasty enough to eat as is, but adding a personal touch elevates the flavor even further! I keep these frozen for times when I run out of fresh rice, making them quite practical.
Step 7
I’m using a Ziggle (or a frying pan) to cook this. As the garlic oil and japchae fried rice combine, the rice grains will separate beautifully, and it will take on an appealing color.
Step 8
Finally, add 20g of butter to enhance the flavor. As the butter melts, it coats the fried rice with a creamy, rich aroma, making for a truly delightful and delicious finish.
Step 9
And just like that, this simple yet incredibly delicious garlic fried rice is ready! Doesn’t it look appetizing?
Step 10
Carefully pack the finished fried rice tightly into a rice bowl.
Step 11
Now, place a plate upside down on top of the rice bowl filled with fried rice.
Step 12
When you’re ready, hold both the rice bowl and the plate firmly and flip them over with a swift motion – ‘Yup!’ The key is to flip it so the bowl is on top.
Step 13
Gently lift the rice bowl, and voilà! Your perfectly shaped fried rice will appear on the plate.
Step 14
For the final touch, consider a beautiful presentation. I’ve added a few grapes I had on hand. Next time, I’ll aim for an even more elaborate and attractive plating!
