Create fluffy, tender scrambled eggs with this guide!
Main Ingredients- 3 fresh eggs
Seasonings & Add-ins- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- Pinch of black pepper (to taste)
- 2 Tbsp milk for added creaminess (heavy cream can be substituted)
- 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil for tender cooking
- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- Pinch of black pepper (to taste)
- 2 Tbsp milk for added creaminess (heavy cream can be substituted)
- 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil for tender cooking
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Carefully crack 3 fresh eggs into a clean bowl. Prepare them for mixing.
Step 2
Sprinkle in 1/2 tsp of fine salt and a pinch of black pepper to season the eggs. Adjust the pepper amount to your preference.
Step 3
For an even smoother texture, remove the chalazae (the stringy white bits attached to the yolk). These are not only higher in cholesterol but can also detract from the delicate taste of scrambled eggs. You can easily remove them with a chopstick.
Step 4
Add 2 Tbsp of milk to make the egg mixture extra tender and moist. If you desire a richer, more decadent flavor, you can substitute heavy cream for the milk. Whisk thoroughly with a spoon or whisk until the eggs and milk are completely combined.
Step 5
Lightly grease your non-stick pan with 1/2 Tbsp of cooking oil and heat over medium heat. Once the pan is warm, reduce the heat to low. Be mindful not to use too much oil, as this can result in greasy, almost fried eggs. A little goes a long way.
Step 6
Gently pour the prepared egg mixture into the warmed pan. Cooking on high heat will make the eggs tough and dry; therefore, cooking slowly over low heat is crucial to maintain a tender texture.
Step 7
As the edges of the egg mixture begin to set, use a chopstick to gently stir the eggs from the bottom of the pan. The key is to stir slowly and gently to create fluffy curds without overcooking.
Step 8
When the eggs reach your desired level of doneness (softly set), immediately turn off the heat. You can enjoy them as is for a moist, runny scramble, or if you prefer them more cooked, simply let the residual heat of the pan finish cooking them to your desired consistency. Serve with warm toast and jam for a simple yet elegant brunch! Enjoy your delicious meal.
