How to Make Super Simple Steamed Eggs (Korean Style)
When you have no appetite, this dish is all you need! It’s incredibly simple yet satisfying.
Ingredients- 4 large eggs
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup water (100ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Crack 4 large eggs into a bowl. Whisk them gently until well combined, avoiding creating too much foam. For an even smoother texture, you can remove the chalazae (the white, stringy bits).
Step 2
Add 1/2 cup (100ml) of water to the beaten eggs. Season with salt to your preference. Stir well with a spoon or ladle. Carefully pour the egg mixture into a ttukbaegi (Korean earthenware pot) or a cast-iron pot.
Step 3
Place the ttukbaegi over very low heat and cover with a lid. Let it cook gently for about 3 minutes. You’ll see small, fluffy bubbles starting to form on the surface of the egg mixture, which indicates it’s cooking nicely.
Step 4
Keep the heat extremely low and continue to cook for another 4 minutes, for a total of approximately 7 minutes. The steamed eggs should be puffed up and the edges should appear set. Serve directly from the ttukbaegi to the table and enjoy! Be careful, as it will be hot.
