Fluffy and Hearty Spinach Frittata
A Satisfying Italian Egg Casserole: Make Delicious Spinach Frittata for a Wholesome Meal!
While Koreans often say ‘we live by rice,’ many people today are opting for bread as a meal replacement. Excessive flour consumption can lead to gluten allergies or intolerability, conditions that were less common in the past but are now frequently seen in modern society. My own father has a gluten allergy, which is why I always pay close attention to his diet. So today, I’ve prepared ‘Spinach Frittata,’ a hearty and healthy Italian-style baked egg dish that you can enjoy instead of bread. It’s a filling and nutritious option!
Ingredients- 2 small tomatoes
- 3 fresh eggs
- 50ml milk for creaminess
- 1/2 medium onion
- 5g butter for richness
- A pinch of black pepper (approx. 3g)
- 1-2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese for flavor
- 1 handful of shredded mozzarella cheese for a gooey texture
- 3 strips of bacon
- 10 fresh spinach leaves
- A little olive oil for greasing the pan
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let me show you all the ingredients you’ll need to make a delicious Spinach Frittata. It will be helpful to refer to these when measuring. ^^
Step 2
Crack 3 fresh eggs into a bowl. Add 50ml of milk for a creamier texture.
Step 3
To the egg and milk mixture, add 1-2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese and a pinch of black pepper (about 3g) to enhance the flavor.
Step 4
Using a whisk, mix these ingredients thoroughly until well combined and smooth. A smooth egg mixture is key for a delicate frittata.
Step 5
Lightly coat a non-stick skillet with olive oil. Add the chopped onion (1/2 medium) and sliced bacon (3 strips) and sauté until they are lightly browned and fragrant.
Step 6
Once the onion and bacon are somewhat cooked and releasing their sweet aroma, add the 10 fresh spinach leaves (pre-washed) and stir-fry them together.
Step 7
Be careful not to overcook the spinach, as it can become mushy. Stir-fry just until the leaves wilt. This will help retain a fresh texture.
Step 8
Grease an oven-safe dish with 5g of butter. This prevents the eggs and cheese from sticking and adds a subtle buttery flavor, making the frittata even more delicious.
Step 9
Arrange the sautéed ingredients (onion, bacon, spinach) evenly in the buttered dish.
Step 10
Slice the 2 small tomatoes and arrange them attractively over the cooked ingredients. The freshness of the tomatoes complements the frittata beautifully.
Step 11
Pour the smooth egg mixture evenly over the ingredients in the dish. Ensure the egg mixture covers the ingredients lightly.
Step 12
Finally, sprinkle 1 handful of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top for a rich, gooey texture. You can also garnish with parsley for a pretty presentation. This step enhances the visual appeal!
Step 13
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 25 minutes. Adjust the baking time based on your oven’s performance. It’s ready when the eggs are fully set and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Step 14
Ta-da! Your delicious Spinach Frittata is ready. It’s not only visually appealing but also incredibly satisfying as a meal. I’m confident it tastes even better than what you’d find at many brunch cafes 🙂 This simple yet sophisticated Spinach Frittata is a must-try! ^^
