Healthy Flourless Shrimp Pajeon Recipe for a Diet
Enjoy a delicious and healthy flourless shrimp pajeon, perfect for a light meal or diet! This recipe features the savory combination of fresh shrimp and fragrant scallions, bound together with eggs for a wonderfully tender texture without any flour. Create a delightful dish with simple ingredients.
Ingredients- 100g Whiteleg Shrimp (thawed if frozen)
- 3 Eggs
- 1 pinch Salt
- A little Black Pepper
- 1/2 bunch Scallions (approx. 15-20 stalks)
- Cooking Oil (as needed)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thaw 100g of frozen whiteleg shrimp if using. Rinse them gently under running water and set aside.
Step 2
Lightly mash the thawed shrimp with the back of a knife, then finely chop them. If you prefer a bit of texture, you don’t need to mince them too finely.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, 3 fresh eggs, a pinch of salt to enhance the shrimp’s flavor, and a little black pepper for aroma. Whisk gently with a fork or whisk until all ingredients are well incorporated and smooth.
Step 4
Clean and trim about half a bunch of scallions (approximately 15-20 stalks). You can cut them to a suitable length that fits your pan.
Step 5
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-low heat. Arrange the prepared scallions neatly on the bottom of the pan. They will become fragrant and slightly crispy as they cook.
Step 6
Pour the prepared shrimp and egg mixture evenly over the scallions. Ensure there are no gaps and the mixture covers the scallions completely. You can gently swirl the pan to help spread it evenly.
Step 7
Reduce the heat to low. You can cover the pan or leave it uncovered to cook slowly until the bottom is golden brown. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
Step 8
Once the bottom is nicely golden brown and cooked, carefully flip the pajeon using a spatula. Cook the other side for another 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Even without flour, the combination of shrimp and eggs creates a wonderfully satisfying and flavorful pancake.
Step 9
Enjoy your delicious pajeon while it’s warm! It pairs wonderfully with your favorite dipping sauce, such as soy sauce or a spicy dipping sauce.
