Fried Rice Ingredients- 1 cup Beef and Carrot Stir-fry (or finely chopped beef and carrots)
- 1 cup Water Parsley (washed and finely chopped)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup Frozen Stir-fry Vegetable Mix
- 3 Tbsp XO Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Chili Oil
- 4 bowls Rice (warm rice)
Onigiri Ingredients- 4 sheets Gimbap Seaweed
- 2 cups Prepared XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice
- 2 sheets Thick Egg Crepe
- 4 sheets Gimbap Seaweed
- 2 cups Prepared XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice
- 2 sheets Thick Egg Crepe
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine 4 bowls of warm rice, 1 cup of prepared beef and carrot stir-fry, and 1 cup of finely chopped water parsley. Crack in 2 eggs and mix everything thoroughly until well combined. This creates a moist and flavorful base for your egg fried rice.
Step 2
Heat 1-2 Tbsp of cooking oil in a heated pan. Add all the prepared fried rice ingredients to the pan and stir-fry. Adding the frozen stir-fry vegetable mix at this stage will provide a more diverse texture.
Step 3
Once the rice starts to become slightly crispy, add 3 Tbsp of XO sauce and 2 Tbsp of oyster sauce to season. The savory depth of the XO and oyster sauces will further enhance the fried rice’s flavor.
Step 4
Stir-fry until all the seasonings are well incorporated, completing the XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice. You can add a pinch of black pepper if desired.
Step 5
Cut the thickly made egg crepe into squares or long rectangles to match the size of your fried rice portions. Using leftover egg crepe from making sandwiches will make this step even easier.
Step 6
Place a sheet of gimbap seaweed on a bamboo mat or a clean work surface. Spread 2 cups of the prepared XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice onto one side, making it thick. Using a square mold at this point can help create a neater shape for your onigiri.
Step 7
Arrange the prepared egg crepe slices (2 sheets) neatly on top of the fried rice.
Step 8
Cover the egg crepe with more XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice, then place another sheet of gimbap seaweed on top. Carefully roll it up like making gimbap to form a square shape.
Step 9
While a square mold makes shaping easier, you can also use a gimbap rolling mat or gently shape it by hand. The rice will hold its shape better while it’s still warm.
Step 10
Cut the completed square XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice Onigiri into large, hand-held portions and arrange them attractively on a serving plate. Your flavorful XO Sauce Beef Fried Rice Onigiri is now ready!
