An easy yet elegant dish you can enjoy at home! When you stir-fry a pack of beef brisket with fresh bean sprouts and crisp bok choy, you create a wonderful meal. The varied textures of the vegetables and the rich juices of the brisket combine to create a dish that will stimulate your appetite.
Main Ingredients- 1 pack Beef Brisket (approx. 200-300g)
- 1 bag Bean Sprouts (approx. 200-300g)
- 3 heads Baby Bok Choy
- 1/2 Red Chili Pepper
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
Seasoning- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the vegetables. Peel and wash the 1/2 onion, then slice it thinly into strips. The onion’s sweetness will add depth to the stir-fry.
Step 2
Remove the stem and seeds from the 1/2 red chili pepper, then thinly slice it into strips, similar to the onion. It will add a touch of spice and vibrant color, making the dish more appealing.
Step 3
Rinse the 1 bag (approx. 200-300g) of bean sprouts under running water and drain them well. Bean sprouts can become mushy if overcooked, so it’s important to add them towards the end and stir-fry briefly to maintain their crispness.
Step 4
Wash the 3 heads of baby bok choy thoroughly under running water. Make sure to clean any soil from the base. You can leave them whole or cut them into bite-sized pieces. They will add a fresh, crunchy element to the dish.
Step 5
Prepare the main ingredient: 1 pack of beef brisket. While the exact weight isn’t specified, a typical 200-300g pack works well. Feel free to adjust the quantity according to your preference.
Step 6
Now, let’s start stir-frying! Heat a wok or a large pan over high heat. Add the beef brisket and cook until it starts to render its fat and cook through. Stir and separate the meat pieces as they cook to prevent sticking.
Step 7
Once the beef brisket is partially cooked, add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and stir-fry together. The garlic aroma will mingle with the meat, adding a deeper flavor. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 8
Next, add the sliced onion and red chili pepper and continue to stir-fry. Cook until the onions become slightly translucent and tender; this will release their sweetness and enhance the dish’s umami.
Step 9
Once the vegetables are somewhat softened, add all the prepared bean sprouts and begin to stir-fry. Don’t worry if they seem like a lot at first; they will wilt down quickly.
Step 10
Add the baby bok choy along with the bean sprouts and stir-fry everything together until well combined. Stir-frying over high heat helps keep the vegetables crisp.
Step 11
When the bean sprouts begin to wilt slightly, add 2 Tbsp of oyster sauce, the key to the flavor. Stir well to ensure the sauce coats all the ingredients evenly. This single sauce will beautifully complete the dish’s taste.
Step 12
Finally, just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and sprinkle 1 tsp of toasted sesame seeds. Your delicious stir-fried beef brisket and bean sprouts are ready! It’s especially wonderful served with hot steamed rice.
