Flavorful & Hearty Minced Meat Miso Paste
Easy & Delicious Recipe for Stir-fried Miso Paste with Minced Meat (Perfect with Ssam Vegetables!)
I’ve made a special seasoned miso paste with minced meat that solves the hassle of cooking meat separately when you want to enjoy ssam (lettuce wraps)! This minced meat miso paste is made with convenience and deep flavor in mind. It’s not only a great side dish for rice but also perfect for enjoying with ssam vegetables. It’s a real rice thief when you have a less appetite!
Main Ingredients- 100ml minced pork (approx. half a paper cup)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp ssamjang (Korean soybean paste)
- 1 Cheongyang chili pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp mirin (cooking wine)
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 100ml of minced pork (about half a paper cup). Heat a dry pan over medium-low heat, then add the minced pork and start stir-frying. Once the pork loses its pink color and turns white throughout, add 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic and stir-fry together to release the garlic aroma. Next, add 1/2 Tbsp of mirin (cooking wine) to eliminate any porky smell and enhance the flavor.
Step 2
When the pork is sufficiently cooked, add 2 Tbsp of ssamjang and mix well. Stir-fry over low heat, making sure not to burn the paste, until the ingredients are well combined and sizzling. Finally, finely chop 1 Cheongyang chili pepper and stir-fry briefly once more to add a spicy kick. Your delicious seasoned minced meat miso paste is now complete.
Step 3
Voila! Your flavorful seasoned minced meat miso paste is ready, and it looks absolutely delicious! With just this seasoning, you can enjoy a hearty meal with ssam vegetables that’s just as satisfying as having separate meat. If you have any leftover seasoning, store it separately. You can add it to dishes like gangdoenjang (a thicker, richer miso paste) or when making doenjang jjigae (miso stew) for an even deeper and tastier result!
