A toast dish featuring a rich butter-garlic sauce, perfect for a brunch menu. Make a large batch of garlic bread, freeze it, and enjoy it anytime! This recipe is great for special occasions or for stocking up your pantry for any day.
Garlic Bread Ingredients- 9 slices of bread
- 4 slices of butter (approx. 40g)
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1-2 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, we’ll make the star of the garlic bread: the butter-garlic sauce. Prepare softened butter (left at room temperature) and minced garlic. If the butter is hard, microwave it very briefly or soak it in warm water until pliable.
Step 2
If you prefer a more intense garlic flavor, feel free to add a little more minced garlic according to your preference. This will reduce the pungency and significantly enhance the aroma.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine the softened butter, prepared minced garlic, maple syrup, parsley, lemon juice, basil, and honey. Adjust the amount of honey to your desired sweetness, between 1 to 2 tablespoons. Whisk or stir with a spoon until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce has a smooth consistency.
Step 4
Now it’s time to prepare the bread. I used rice bread purchased from Hansalim, but regular sliced bread or any other type of bread works well. Prepare 9 slices.
Step 5
It’s important to ensure the butter-garlic sauce soaks deep into the bread for a moist texture. Using a bread knife, lightly score the top surface of each slice of bread in a cross shape, without cutting all the way through. This will help the sauce penetrate better, making the bread softer and tastier.
Step 6
Using a bread knife or the back of a spoon, spread the prepared butter-garlic sauce evenly over the top of each slice of bread. Make sure to coat the surface thoroughly and also get some sauce into the scored lines.
Step 7
We have now completed 9 slices of garlic bread coated with the sauce. Just looking at them will make your mouth water!
Step 8
Here’s a tip for freezing a large batch to enjoy later. Place parchment paper on top of the sauced bread slices. Individually wrap each slice or place them without overlapping in a resealable plastic bag, seal tightly, and then store in the freezer. This method prevents the bread from sticking together and makes it easy to take out individual slices.
Step 9
When you want to eat some, take out two slices of garlic bread from the freezer. There’s no need to thaw them beforehand; you can cook them directly.
Step 10
Now, let’s bake them to delicious perfection using the air fryer. Place the two slices of garlic bread in a silicone air fryer basket or on parchment paper. Set the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for about 15 minutes. They will come out crispy on the outside and moist on the inside – perfect garlic bread!
