Elegant Homemade Croissant Sandwich
Create a Delicious and Easy Croissant Sandwich Just Like in French Cafés
I’ve made a sandwich using croissants. If you appreciate clean and sophisticated sandwiches, you must try making this one!
Ingredients
- 2 Fresh Croissants
- 4 Slices of Ham
- 2 Slices of Monterey Jack Cheese
- 1 Handful of Fresh Arugula
- Dijon Mustard
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Using a bread knife, carefully slice each croissant horizontally, but only about two-thirds of the way through. The goal is to create a pocket that opens up like a clam shell, rather than cutting it completely in half. This ensures the sandwich holds together nicely.
Step 2
Gently open the top half of the sliced croissant, taking care not to tear it. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the inside surface. For a more pungent kick, you can opt for whole grain mustard instead. Adjust the amount to your preference.
Step 3
Layer the fillings onto the mustard-coated side. Start with two slices of ham, folded in quarters, stacked on top of each other. Then, add a slice of Monterey Jack cheese. Finally, generously pile on a handful of fresh arugula.
Step 4
Don’t worry about arranging the ingredients perfectly. The beautiful shape of the croissant itself does most of the visual work, making the sandwich look appealing even with a generous filling.
Step 5
For a decorative touch, cut a piece from the croissant’s paper bag and wrap it around the base of the sandwich. Secure it with a ribbon or twine for an elegant presentation. Your sophisticated croissant sandwich is now ready to be enjoyed!
