Easily found at the supermarket, the mini kimbap set is your shortcut! Instead of making the standard version, let’s create a ‘chubby’ egg kimbap by making generous amounts of egg omelet. Main Ingredients- 2 bowls of warm rice
- Mini kimbap set (including kimbap seaweed)
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 Tbsp salt
- Pinch of pepper
Rice Seasoning- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp salt

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the egg omelets, the star of our kimbap. Crack 5 eggs into a bowl. Add 1/2 Tbsp salt and a pinch of pepper, and whisk gently until well combined. For an even smoother texture, you can strain the mixture through a sieve.
Step 2
Prepare the pan for cooking the omelets. Lightly grease the pan with cooking oil, then use a paper towel to spread a thin, even layer of oil across the entire surface. This coating will prevent the egg from sticking and ensure even cooking.
Step 3
Heat the coated pan over medium-low heat. Pour in about half a ladleful of the beaten egg mixture and cook until thin and even. It’s important to cook the omelets thinly so they can be rolled easily into the kimbap.
Step 4
Now, let’s season the rice. In a bowl with 2 bowls of warm cooked rice, add the seasoning ingredients: 1 Tbsp salt, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds. Gently mix with a spatula, being careful not to mash the rice grains, until the seasoning is evenly distributed.
Step 5
Once the egg omelets have cooled slightly, thinly julienne them. Slicing them finely will ensure a neat appearance when the kimbap is rolled.
Step 6
It’s time to roll the kimbap! Place a sheet of kimbap seaweed on a rolling mat. Spread a thin layer of the seasoned rice over the seaweed. Generously layer the julienned egg omelet on top, followed by any other ingredients from the mini kimbap set that you like. Roll tightly to complete your delicious egg mini kimbap. For mini kimbap, it’s best not to overfill; moderate filling ensures a neat and intact roll.
