Easy Homemade Pave Chocolate
Super Simple Pave Chocolate to Convey Your Love:D
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I made Pave Chocolate for my husband, who is a total chocoholic.
Ingredients
- Chocolate 210g
- Milk 70ml
- Hot chocolate powder, as needed
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently heat the milk (70ml) in a saucepan over low heat. Watch carefully, and as soon as you see tiny bubbles forming around the edges of the milk, immediately remove it from the heat. Boiling the milk too vigorously can cause the chocolate to separate later.
Step 2
Chop the chocolate into small, uniform pieces using a knife. This will help it melt smoothly and quickly when mixed with the warm milk.
Step 3
Prepare your mold for the Pave chocolate. A square or rectangular mold works best. Line the mold with parchment paper or plastic wrap. This will make it much easier to remove the chocolate once it’s set. Ensure the lining is smooth and fits snugly.
Step 4
Add the finely chopped chocolate to the saucepan with the warm milk. The ideal ratio is approximately 3 parts chocolate to 1 part milk (210g chocolate to 70ml milk). Stir gently with a spatula or whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and smoothly incorporated into the milk. Avoid over-stirring.
Step 5
Once the chocolate is fully melted, it’s time to achieve that rich, ganache-like texture. Continue stirring slowly and consistently with a spatula, scraping from the bottom and folding it over. You’re looking for a smooth, glossy mixture that thickens slightly. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Carefully pour the well-mixed chocolate ganache into your prepared mold. After pouring, gently tap the mold on the counter a few times. This helps to release any trapped air bubbles, ensuring a smooth finish when you cut the chocolate later. Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until firm. Chilling makes it easier to slice.
Step 7
While the chocolate is setting, let’s prepare the coating. Place one packet of hot chocolate powder into a resealable bag or a clean plastic bag. You can use brands like Nestlé Nesquik or any unsweetened cocoa powder. If you prefer a sweeter coating, you can mix in a little sugar. Seal the bag tightly.
Step 8
Once the chocolate is firm, carefully remove it from the mold and peel off the parchment paper or plastic wrap. Using a sharp knife, cut the chocolate into uniform, bite-sized pieces (about 2cm x 2cm). Place the cut chocolate pieces into the bag with the hot chocolate powder. Gently shake the bag to coat each piece evenly. The powder adds a lovely finish and a hint of flavor.
Step 9
Voilà! Your delicious, melt-in-your-mouth homemade Pave Chocolate is ready. Arrange them on a pretty plate and share this sweet treat with your loved ones. They can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
