Making Delicious Jerky Using Nourishing Porridge
Every snack becomes incredibly easy with nourishing porridge! ^^ This time, it’s jerky! ^^ A recipe leveraging @6914419’s idea, making jerky is truly simple.
Ingredients- 1kg Store-bought Nourishing Porridge
- 1kg Boneless Chicken Thigh
- 6 Eggs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1kg of boneless chicken thigh. You’ll finely mince it using a knife. Boneless chicken thigh is tender, so mincing 1kg is not as difficult as you might think and can be done quickly.^^ The minced chicken will add wonderful flavor to the dish.
Step 2
Crack 6 fresh eggs into the minced chicken thigh. Eggs help bind the ingredients together smoothly and add a rich, savory taste.
Step 3
Next, add 1kg of the store-bought nourishing porridge you’ve prepared. (For the nourishing porridge recipe, please refer to @6914419.) The nourishing porridge will be key to the jerky’s tender texture and delicious flavor.
Step 4
Now it’s time to mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Shake it up! Mix vigorously as if you were using a whisk. Ensuring the ingredients are uniformly combined without lumps will result in delicious jerky.
Step 5
We’ll transfer the prepared mixture into a piping bag. Cut off the tip of the piping bag to your desired size, place it inside a cup, and carefully fill it with the mixture. This makes piping the mixture much easier.
Step 6
Using the piping bag, we’ll pipe the mixture onto your baking molds. Use a scraper to gather the mixture towards one side and pipe it beautifully into the molds in your desired shape. Piping it into a long, slender shape will give it the characteristic look of jerky.
Step 7
Don’t worry if you don’t have specific molds ready for jerky. It can be adapted into various shapes.
Step 8
If you don’t have molds, you can shape the mixture into small, round meatballs, or drop small portions about the size of a chestnut onto a baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Even with different shapes, the taste will be excellent!
Step 9
Now it’s time to bake in the oven. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the jerky for a total of 35 minutes. For the first 15 minutes, stack the baking sheets in three layers. Afterward, rotate the pan positions and bake for an additional 10 minutes each. This ensures even cooking throughout.
Step 10
Once removed from the oven, don’t take the jerky out of the molds immediately. Let it cool for a bit; it will hold its shape well and won’t crumble when you touch it.^^ Though shaped long, the taste is quite similar to a meatball, just with a delightful texture.^^
Step 11
Place the finished jerky on a wire rack to cool completely. It’s important to let it cool sufficiently, as it might break if handled while still hot.
Step 12
Once completely cooled, arrange the jerky nicely. Portion some into serving sizes and freeze, while the rest can be transferred to the refrigerator. This way, you can enjoy them for a long time.^^ Perfect for kids’ snacks!
Step 13
This jerky is a delicious snack that everyone, young and old, can enjoy together. It’s much more delicate and savory than store-bought sausages or ham, making it an excellent nutritious snack for children.^^
Step 14
If you further dry it in a dehydrator, you’ll achieve a chewy texture, making it a perfect companion for beer!^^ Create wonderful moments with your homemade jerky! ^^
