Ingredients- 1 potato, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 zucchini (Korean squash), sliced into half-moons
- 2 servings of fresh kal-guk-su noodles
- 1 pouch Cherry Bro Rich Chicken Broth (300g)
- 1 pouch Cherry Bro Dried Vegetable Mix (20g)
- 1 pouch Cherry Bro Cooked Chicken Breast (100g)
- 2 cups water (approx. 1,000ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s check the contents of the package. You’ll find a pouch of rich chicken broth, a mix of dried vegetables, pre-cooked chicken breast, and fresh kal-guk-su noodles – a perfect ensemble for a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup.
Step 2
In a pot, combine 2 cups of water (approx. 1,000ml) and 1 pouch of the rich chicken broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once the broth is bubbling, add the prepared potato, onion, and zucchini. Continue to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. As the vegetables cook, they’ll release their natural sweetness, enriching the broth with a deeper flavor.
Step 3
When the vegetables are about halfway cooked, add the kal-guk-su noodles. Gently loosen the noodles in the pot to prevent them from sticking together. Let them cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked to your desired tenderness. Stir occasionally with a ladle to ensure they don’t stick to the bottom of the pot while cooking.
Step 4
Once the noodles are almost fully cooked, add the pouch of dried vegetable mix. Let it simmer for another minute or so to allow the vegetables to rehydrate and blend into the soup, adding texture and nutrients.
Step 5
Finally, open the pouch of cooked chicken breast and add the pieces to the pot. Since the chicken breast is already cooked, it only needs to be heated through. Simmer for about 1 more minute, just until the chicken is warmed. Your delicious Dak-kal-guk-su is ready! Feel free to garnish with chopped green onions or serve with kimchi for an extra kick.
