Key Ingredients
- Nongshim Nest Mul-Naengmyeon 1 pack
- Nongshim Nest Bibim-Naengmyeon 1 pack
- 1/2 hard-boiled egg
- A little cucumber
- A little pickled radish wraps (Ssammu)
Seasoning & Garnish
- 2-3 drops of vinegar (to taste)
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- 2-3 drops of vinegar (to taste)
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one pack each of Nongshim Nest Mul-Naengmyeon and Bibim-Naengmyeon.
Step 2
Boil a generous amount of water in a pot for cooking the noodles.
Step 3
While the water is heating, place the Mul-Naengmyeon soup base packet into a square bowl.
Step 4
Pour water into the square bowl up to just below the marked line (approximately 200ml). This accounts for the amount of broth.
Step 5
Add plenty of ice to the prepared broth and stir well to create a refreshingly cold Mul-Naengmyeon broth.
Step 6
Once the water is at a rolling boil, add the naengmyeon noodles and cook for about 3 minutes. Refer to the package instructions for precise timing.
Step 7
To prevent the noodles from sticking together or to the bottom of the pot, gently stir them with chopsticks while they are cooking to ensure even cooking.
Step 8
After 3 minutes, when the noodles are cooked, immediately transfer them to cold water. Rub the noodles gently with your hands while rinsing them. This removes excess starch, resulting in a chewier and springier texture.
Step 9
Drain the rinsed noodles thoroughly in a colander. Place them in a serving bowl and top with the Bibim-Naengmyeon sauce.
Step 10
Slice the pickled radish wraps (Ssammu) into bite-sized pieces and arrange them attractively on top of the noodles.
Step 11
Add julienned cucumber and a halved hard-boiled egg as garnishes. Sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds over everything to complete the presentation.
Step 12
Now, carefully pour the prepared cold Mul-Naengmyeon broth over the noodles and garnishes, ensuring they are well submerged.
Step 13
Finally, add 2-3 drops of vinegar for a touch of tanginess, if desired. Mix everything together and enjoy your delicious Mul-Bibim Naengmyeon! For an extra chill, feel free to add more ice.
