Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Use store-bought marinated crab soy sauce, or if making your own, mix all the ingredients listed under ‘Marinade’ for the marinated shrimp. (If using store-bought, choose one with less water content for a richer flavor.)
Step 2
Pour the prepared soy sauce marinade into a pot. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. This process removes any bitterness from the soy sauce and enhances its savory flavor. Let the cooked marinade cool completely.
Step 3
Place the cleaned and prepared shrimp in an airtight container. Pour the completely cooled soy sauce marinade over the shrimp, ensuring they are fully submerged. It’s important that the shrimp are evenly covered by the marinade.
Step 4
Seal the container tightly and refrigerate for at least 3 days to marinate. As time passes, the shrimp will absorb more flavor, becoming even more delicious. Gently stir the shrimp once during this period to ensure the marinade penetrates evenly.
Step 5
After 3 days, take out the well-marinated shrimp and arrange them attractively in a serving dish. The plump shrimp and glossy marinade will be very appetizing.
Step 6
These delicious marinated shrimp are ready to be served! They’re so good, they’ll make you finish your rice in no time. For an extra touch, you can garnish with seaweed flakes or a drizzle of sesame oil.
